Your Catch
Fishing in Alaska provides you with the unique privilege of capturing and returning home with the finest seafood in the world. Unlike many operations in Alaska I am compulsively careful when it comes to the fish you catch. The difference between excellent food and poor quality fish starts the moment your fish comes aboard. After killing your prize I immediately bleed it, draining the blood before it is absorbed by the muscle tissue prevents discoloration and the "fishy" taste that repulses people. I place your catch in a fish hold that is constantly flushed with cold water until I can clean it and put it on ice in a cooler. At the end of the day your catch will be vacuum packed and frozen by Pep's Packing. Pep's Packing is as compulsive as I am when it comes to your catch. You will receive your fish! At the end of your stay the frozen fish will be loaded into wet-loc boxes for your flight home. The boxes will keep frozen fish from thawing up to eighteen hours at room temperature. At the airport you can check these boxes in as baggage. Most airlines allow two pieces of checked baggage (50 pound maximum) free of charge per passenger - you have to pay for excess by the pound! Keep this in mind when you are packing your luggage and determining how many fish to keep. Pep's Packing can also custom smoke your catch.
