In 1928, what is now Gustavus Inn was a homestead where a hardy couple and their nine children settled to carve a home from the Alaskan wilderness.
Gustavus Inn rests in the grassy Salmon River meadow with an ocean view of Icy Strait. The Gustavus Inn has a cozy hearth room, naturalist library and family style dining invite conversation and new friendships. They serve a variety of locally brewed beers and wine at the six-stool bar. Comfortable new guest rooms have a queen and a twin bed with a private bath. Two original homestead rooms, with ocean view, share a hall bath. The Gustavus Inn also offers wireless internet connectivity (WI-FI) throughout the inn. Family style meals served in the original homestead dining room will highlight your visit. Dinner is its own adventure, with just picked garden and native edibles sharing the table with the freshest of salmon, halibut and Dungeness crab plucked from Icy Strait, and a choice of desserts made just for you.
