Gustavus, Alaska
This unique Southeast Alaska community rests on a grassy plain where Glacier Bay and Icy Strait converge. Gustavus is fifty miles west of Juneau and is surrounded by Glacier Bay National Park. Icy Strait is the northern entrance to the Inside Passage that extends to the Puget Sound. This rural community of 400 treasures its honest and open country lifestyle. Fishing, tourism, and construction are the primary occupations in Gustavus. Gustavus has a small airport that receives daily Alaska Airlines jet service via Juneau during the summer and is the base for several local airlines offering small commuter planes. Gustavus is blessed with 15 miles of road - the longest stretch is between the airport and Glacier Bay National Park headquarters at Bartlett Cove.

Gustavus is the hub for summer activities in the Glacier Bay vicinity. Visitors worldwide come to Gustavus to sportfish, watch whales, kayak and explore the geologic wonders of Glacier Bay. Local inns provide visitors with first class accommodations, delicious meals featuring local seafood, and the warm hospitality that brings people back year after year.
