Getting to Gustavus
There are no roads into Gustavus so visitors must arrive by airplane from Juneau. Alaska Airlines has a daily flight during the summer (June 7th - September 10th) via Juneau that arrives at 5:00 PM and departs for Juneau at 6:00 PM. All air travel into Juneau/Gustavus originates in Seattle or Anchorage. Alaska Airlines is the only air carrier serving Juneau and the rest of Southeast Alaska.
The other popular option is chartering a commuter airplane between Gustavus and Juneau. These six passenger airplanes will have you in Gustavus in less than thirty minutes. The flight is breathtaking and a flight seeing trip can be incorporated. These charters are available all day. You can usually expect a flight to Gustavus within the hour your jet arrives in Juneau. Air Excursions and Fjord Flying Service are preferred air charters.
Flight-seeing charters into Glacier Bay and Brady Glacier and flights into remote lakes and streams for fishing are a recommended addition to your adventure.
